Lewis Capaldi scores his third Official Irish Singles Chart Number 1 with Before You Go
Lewis Capaldi has scored his third Number 1 on the Official Irish Singles Chart.
After debuting at Number 11 last week based on less than three days of sales, Before You Go jumps ten places to lead this week’s Top 50. Lewis is now the artist with the most Number 1 singles of 2019 in Ireland, surpassing the two achieved by Ariana Grande. The Scotsman’s previous chart-topping hits are Someone You Loved and Hold Me While You Wait.
Dua Lipa holds firm at Number 2 with Don’t Start Now, last week’s Number 1 Everything I Wanted by Billie Eilish slips to Number 3, and Stormzy claims this week’s highest new entry with Own It featuring Ed Sheeran and Burna Boy. Own It is Stormzy’s third Top 10, while becoming Ed Sheeran’s landmark 40th Top 50 hit this week.

Watermelon Sugar by Harry Styles (17) and Endor’s Pump It Up (18) are now Top 20 hits, and there’s a debut chart entry for Houston singer-songwriter Trevor Daniel with his TikTok featured viral song Falling (25). Just behind is YouTube star KSI who climbs nine places with Down Like That featuring Rick Ross, Lil Baby and S-X (26).
Khalid is this week’s highest climber in the Top 50, up 10 rungs to Number 37 with Up All Night, while returning to the Official Irish Singles Chart is Mariah Carey’s Christmas classic All I Want For Christmas Is You at Number 40; last year, the song reached Number 4.
Taken from the Frozen 2 soundtrack, Idina Menzel & Aurora pick up a Top 50 placing at 43 with Into The Unknown, and finally, Wham! make their annual return with Last Christmas at 48.
