Lewis Capaldi chasing Number 1 debut with comeback single Forget Me

The Scottish star's first single in nearly three years is shaping up to be a massive return to form.

After nearly three years away, Lewis Capaldi is chasing a Number 1 debut for his comeback single Forget Me.

The up-tempo track - produced by TMS - is currently on track to become the Scottish star’s third chart-topping hit on the Official Singles Chart, following Someone You Loved (2019) and Before You Go (2019).

Nicki Minaj’s Super Freaky Girl is looking to rise to a new peak of Number 5, following the release of its candy-coloured music video and a Queens Remix featuring a cacophony of female rappers like City Girls’ JT and BIA.

Chris Brown Under The Influence could jump one place to Number 13 with Under The Influence, another new peak.

Burna Boy and Ed Sheeran’ team-up For My Hand is on track to jump up four and crack the Top 20 for the first time (20).

If Lewis Capaldi is number one for 2 weeks with Forget Me, it becomes by birthday No.1 for this year on the 26th

Really wanted BEBE REXHA to claim her first number 1 single!! But now that the overrated Lewis Capaldi is back..no chance for BEBE!! I am good is such a great feeling single...

“A cacophony of rappers”…probably not the word you meant but sums it up perfectly! Also, bit of proof-reading might be in order re the Chris Brown comment…

I do hope that I'm Good gets a shot at the #1 next week since it looks like lewis will get it this week

BOTA still chances, as I'm Good leads on streaming

actually, although im good is at #1 on spotify, BOTA is the real #1 since theres the edit and the original version which are counted as separate

Was hoping to see 'Snap' here tonight given how close it got to the Top 20 back on Friday!

Maybe it'll get there in the update or final chart. :)

Is 'Late Night Talking' an ACR drop? 🤔

C

Conor

2

nope, its just dropped down because its climb was due to physicals last week, which it no longer has, so its back to its usual streaming-only levels

I only just noticed the 14-5 jump it took last week! 😭

Not a very big fan of it unfortunately. :/

me neither. imo harry is the most overrated artist ever.

I wouldn’t have gone that far, but I just wish he stuck with the more Britpop sound he was going for with his debut album, because he honestly nailed that. :)

Absolutely no surprises seeing 'Forget Me' leading the way tonight & it'll absolutely become Lewis' third #1 single on Friday!

As for me, I'm kind of indifferent on it! The vocals are solid as always, but it just sounds like a less memorable version of 'Grace'.

Hoping it can grow on me! 🤞

Idk, B.O.T.A is hitting hard, and let's not forget I'm Good (Blue) is leading the streaming levels. Surprised actually with Harry Styles' Late Night Talking drop, but I hope it's not on acr. Bad Habit and CWLCD could drop acr next week, due to the streaming levels dropping significantly, My G and Not Over Yet stay, the rest at least another few weeks because of good streaming and downloads. I Ain't Worried also looks towards a number 1 in the next few weeks IF Lewis and David miss out. Afraid To Feel and Stay With Me on acr in the next few weeks if stream drops more (Remember these are predictions I have worked out due to looking at other charts and things may change.)

‘Forget Me’ seemed to have a convincing lead in sales, while it opened at the top of the Spotify daily chart with over 500k streams, while it broke through at #2 on Apple Music!

I guess we’ll see if it’s moved on the update in only a few minutes, although I don’t think it would’ve. 🤔

'Forget me' will easily be number 1 on Friday purely as the sales boost will take it well over 'I'm good's streaming this week although the following week will be a different story as its streaming is dropping rapidly and sales tend to be a big first week push. Count discount BOTA but think 'I'm good' will smatch it next week

It had to happen with Lewis..He has the selling and streaming power to finally end what has been a Summer of dance even though his one sounds dance like but a much needed return to complete the full circle of big sellers in the singles charts.

Looking at last night’s update from BuzzJack, he was only leading by a few hundred combined sales, so he definitely isn’t there yet! :O

Looks like all three of them could still be at the top even with a day ago! :P
