Fresh off the back of his chart-topping single Forget Me, Lewis Capaldi has announced his second studio album Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent.

The follow-up to 2019 debut Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent, which reached Number 1 upon its release and has spent 178 weeks and counting on the Official Albums Chart, Lewis's second LP will be released on May 19th 2023; announced alongside a mammoth UK and European tour to kick off next January.

MORE: Lewis Capaldi's Official Charts history so far

Announcing the album, Lewis says: "I don't want to create a new sound for myself, or reinvent myself. The songs I want to write are emotional songs, about love or loss."

On the recording process, which saw him take things back to basics in his own home, Lewis adds: "I felt like I was sounding better because I was just chilled out in my own gaff. Also, a lot of this record was made with most of the same people who I worked with on the first one: TMS, Phil Plested, Nick Atkinson and Edd Holloway. At least one of them's on almost every song.

"I'm ready. And so are the songs."

What a stupid name for an album! But coming from this overrated singer, i am not surprised! Still glad that his new single didn't sell well worlwide and only spent a single week at the Top of the UK chart!!

weird album names have been lewis capaldi’s brand though 😂 but i have to agree. it’s one uninteresting artist after another at this point. first the busker ed sheeran, then the children’s party entertainer george ezra (the worst of the lot), now it’s this overrated pub singer!

i gotta give him credit though, he’s hilarious as a person
