Les Mis spends a second week at Official Albums Chart summit
The UK has officially got musical fever as Les Miserables spends a second week on top of the Official Albums Chart.
Last week, The Motion Picture Cast Recording of Tom Hooper’s big screen adaptation of the hit musical based on Victor Hugo’s novel became the first film cast recording to top the Official Albums Chart since Evita in 1997. It continues to dominate the Official Albums Chart this week, outselling its closest competitor, Emeli Sande’s Our Version Of Events by more than two to one.
As such, Emeli Sande’s hit album continues to make an impact high on the charts in its 50th week on the Official Albums Chart, while Calvin Harris’ 18 Months and Jake Bugg’s eponymous debut swap places to finish the week at Number 3 and 4 respectively. Rihanna completes this week’s Official Albums Chart Top 5 with Unapologetic.

Manchester’s I Am Kloot score their first Official Albums Chart Top 10 placing as their sixth studio album Let It All In becomes this week’s highest new entry at Number 10.
Ludovico Einaudi is at Number 24 with In A Time Lapse, followed by Adam Ant’s release in almost 18 years. His sixth studio album, the catchily titled Adam Ant Is the Blueblack Hussar In Marrying the Gunner’s Daughter, finishes the week at 25.
