The Motion Picture Cast Recording of Tom Hooper’s Les Miserables looks set to spend a second week at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart.
After becoming the first cast recording to top the Official Albums Chart in almost 16 years, Les Miserables looks set to spend a second week at Number 1 according to today’s Official Chart Update.
The Motion Picture Cast Recording of Tom Hooper’s big screen adaptation of the hit musical based on Victor Hugo’s novel has a clear lead on its closest competitor, Emeli Sande’s Our Version Of Events (Number 2), at this midway stage.
Jake Bugg’s self-titled debut album and Calvin Harris’ 18 Months remain static at Number 3 and 4, respectively, while I Am Kloot are on course for this week’s highest new entry with Let It All In (Number 5). The Manchester-based indie rockers’ sixth studio album looks set to give them their highest chart placing to date; the band’s 2010 album, Sky At Night, which was produced by Elbow’s Guy Garvey and Craig Potter peaked at Number 24.
New Entries
In addition to I Am Kloot’s Let It All In, there are five new entries on today's Official Albums Chart Update Top 40.
Adam Ant makes a welcome return to the Official Albums Chart with his first new solo studio album in almost 18 years. Adam Ant Is the Blueblack Hussar in Marrying the Gunner's Daughter is new in at Number 8 today.
Welsh rockers The Blackout look set to enter at Number 12 on Sunday with Start The Party, while Cambridge-based post-hardcore outfit Mallory Knox are at Number 15 with their debut album, Signals.
This week’s new entries are completed by The Joy Formidable’s Wolf’s Law (16) and Ludovico Einaudi’s In A Time Lapse (18).
