Legendary trance music DJ Robert Miles has died aged 47
The Swiss-born Italian was best known for his Number 2 hit Children.
The dance music world is in mourning today following the untimely death of DJ Robert Miles, who has died aged 47.
Robert, best known for his smash Number 2 hit Children, passed away in the early hours of this morning from an unspecified illness, reports DJ Mag Italia.
His friend Joe T Vanelli told the publication: "The tragic news of the death of a very talented artist of our time, makes me incredulous and upset. I will miss the fights, brawls, criticism, judgements but especially your talent in finding sounds and melodies unparalleled.”
Notable DJs and dance producers and fans have reacted on social media to the news and paid tribute to Miles, including Pete Tong, Darude, and Armin Van Buuren paying tribute.

Robert scored 3 UK Top 10 singles in 1996 including Children, which spent 10 weeks in the UK Top 10. It sat at Number 2 for three weeks, held off the Number 1 spot by Oasis and Take That.
Overall, 852,000 copies of Children have been sold in the UK and the song has been streamed 6.1 million times since 2014 when streaming records began.
Robert's chart success also led to him winning a BRIT Award in 1997 for Best International Breakthrough Act.
