Lana Del Rey maintains Albums Chart lead amid flood of new releases

Lana Del Rey is currently maintaining her reign atop of the Official Albums Chart today with Born To Die despite a smattering of new releases this week. The 25 year old US songstress catapulted straight to the summit upon the release of her eagerly anticipated major label debut album last week and currently holds the lead by 3,000 copies.

Maverick Sabre released his debut studio album, Lonely Are The Brave, this week. The Anglo-Irish singer, who has previously collaborated with the likes of electronic duo Chase & Status and fellow Hackney-born rapper Professor Green, enters the Official Albums Chart Update today at Number 2. The album features previous singles Let Me Go and I Need.

Paul McCartney’s Kisses On The Bottom (3) is the 16th solo studio album by The Beatles superstar, and his first since 2007's Memory Almost Full. The album enters at Number 3 in today’s Update, while Van Halen’s 12th studio album, A Different Kind Of Truth, enters at Number 4. A Different Kind Of Truth is Van Halen’s first studio album since reuniting with lead vocalist David Lee Roth in 2006.

High Wycombe rockers Young Guns new release Bones enters at Number 9, just 700 copies ahead of Mark Lanegan Band’s Blues Funeral (10). In at Number 12 is Pet Shop Boys’ Format, a compilation of B-sides and bonus tracks from the Pet Shop Boys circa 1996 – 2009, Air's Le Voyage Dans La Lune (19) , Goldfrapp The Singles (29), Big Country’s The Crossing (35), and High Ceilings & Collarbones by Juan Zelada (37) completes the flood of new entries in today’s Official Albums Chart Update Top 40.
