LadBaby featuring Ed Sheeran and Elton John becomes UK's Number 1 Trending Song as they attempt recording breaking #XmasNo1
LadBaby have made a great start to making chart history this Friday - Sausage Rolls For Everyone featuring Ed Sheeran and Elton John now tops the Official Trending Chart.
LadBaby seem one step closer to making Official Charts history this Friday, as Sausage Rolls For Everyone featuring Ed Sheeran and Elton John becomes the Number 1 Trending Song in the UK.
The track - a re-working of Ed and Elton's Number 1 single Merry Christmas - is released as much money as possible for charity, with all proceeds going towards food bank charity The Trussell Trust.
If LadBaby do in fact reach Number 1 this Friday, they will break a long-held chart record and become the first act to ever achieve four consecutive Christmas Number 1s. Currently, they tie The Beatles and Spice Girls with three each.
Another Christmas Number 1 contender - an anti-Boris Johnson protest back by a very explicitly named punk band - is this week's second-highest entry on the Official Trending Chart in second place. The Have A Word podcast also enter the race for #XmasNo1 this week, with their track Laura's Gone featuring Finlay K another new entry.

Reliably at this time of year, there are also a lot of Christmas songs trending up and down the country. Those making big gains include tracks available exclusively to Amazon Music listeners or through the Alexa; Olivia Dean's The Christmas Song and Camila Cabello's I'll Be Home For Christmas are the biggest risers of the group, while Alessia Cara and Summer Walker also re-enter the Trending Chart just in time for Christmas week.
Other high risers this week include Kelly Clarkson and Ariana Grande's original Christmas composition Santa Can't You Hear Me?, Carrie Underwood's Favorite Time Of Year and Mabel's cover of Cyndi Lauper's Time After Time, which you may recognise from this year's McDonald's Christmas advert.
And finally in non-Christmas song related news, Ava Max and Tiesto's dance-banger The Motto (written by Claudia Valentina, one of our Ones To Watch for 2021) is a re-entry in the chart, while alt-pop auteur FKA twigs' exciting collaboation with The Weeknd, Tears In The Club, is another new entry.
