Kiesza heading for huge debut Number 1 with Hideaway

Canadian singer/songwriter Kiesza is on track to debut at Number 1 with summer anthem, Hideaway.

Kiesza looks set to claim her first UK Number 1 single this weekend. And it’s going to be a big one!

The 25 year old Canadian singer/songwriter’s debut release, Hideaway, has stormed ahead on today’s Official Singles Chart Update. The track, which has all the makings of being a 2014 summer anthem, has sold over 86,000 copies already in the UK this week.

If Kiesza’s sales momentum continues at this pace, she could be challenging for one of the best opening week sales of the year.  Clean Bandit’s Rather Be FT Jess Glynne, which ended its first week with sales of 162,000 copies holds the fastest seller title currently.

Current chart toppers, Sigma, slide one place to Number 2 with Nobody To Love, while London-based singer/producer Shift K3y is in at Number 3 with deep house track, Touch.

John Legend’s All Of Me is a non-mover at Number 4 midweek, while Aloe Blacc’s former Number 1, The Man, slips a further two places to Number 5 today.

New Entries

Alongside Kiesza’s Hideaway (Number 1) and Shift K3y’s Touch (3), the Official Singles Chart Update sees three further new tracks entering the midweek Top 40.

London-based grime artist, Meridian Dan, enters at Number 6, with single German Whip FT Big H and JME, while Elyar Fox’s follow up to Do It All Over Again, A Billion Girls, enters at Number 7 today.

Finally, Dutch DJ duo, Showtek and fellow DJ and countryman, Justin Prime, are new in at Number 27 with Cannonball (Earthquake) FT Matthew Koma.
