Kesha announces her return to music with new single Praying
Kesha has announced her return to music and new album plans.
The singer shared news of her new single, called Praying, on her Instagram account. It was released earlier today (July 6). Her new album Rainbow has been confirmed for an August 11 release.
The singer accompanied the song's release with an essay about her "darkest moments" and the inspiration behind the record. Read the full piece over on Lenny Letter.
Lyrics to Kesha's Praying
Well, you almost had me fooled Told me that I was nothing without you Oh, but after everything you've done I can thank you for how strong I have…

The Nashville-born singer has not put out any music as a lead artist since her 2013 EP Deconstructed, though last year she collaborated with Zedd on True Colours.
Kesha said her comeback was down to the "support and love and kindness" in a series of video clips, which you can watch below.
Kesha's absence from music has been down to her legal dispute with record label Kemosabe, a division of Sony part-owned by producer and songwriter Dr. Luke, who Kesha has been in a legal battle with since October 2014. A New York supreme court judge dismissed all allegations of sexual assault towards Dr. Luke in April of last year. Her new material will be jointly released by Kemosabe and RCA.

"Animals, I have a surprise for you," Kesha continued. "Your support and love and kindness has gotten me through, hands down, the hardest time in my entire life. My new song, ‘Praying,’ is coming out tomorrow, and I couldn’t have done this without you. I fu**ing love you.
"I cannot wait and will forever fight for you to hear it. Merry everything and happy every day and thank you for not abandoning me while I fight the good fight."
Kesha has scored 3 UK Number 1 singles - Right Round, We R Who We R and Timber, and has achieved 12 Top 40 singles in total. View her full chart history here.
