She's so moving on, yeah yeah.

Kelly Clarkson is so moving on - the original American Idol has announced that, after years of teasing, her new album Chemistry is finally on the way.

Of course, a new Kelly Clarkson is always cause for celebration, but this one especially has been eagerly awaited since it's rumoured to be Kelly's divorce album, following her separation from husband of eight years, Brandon Blackstock.

While Kelly has been keeping herself busy over the last few years - becoming one of the most beloved and in-demand talk show hosts in the US with The Kelly Clarkson show and keeping every pop gay on their toes with her Kellyoke cover sessions - she finally revealed over the weekend that, yes, her divorce album Chemistry is on the way...and its first single is coming sooner than you might think.

"It is officially time to tell you that I've been working on this project for close to three years now. I wasn't sure I was going to release it, but I am," Kelly shared in a video to her followers.

"It's called Chemistry because I was trying to find a word that really described the whole thing 'cause I didn't want everybody to think that I was just coming out with some just like, 'I'm angry. I'm sad,' just one or two emotions."

She continued: "This album is definitely the arc of an entire relationship, and a whole relationship shouldn't be just brought down to one thing [...] Chemistry can be a really amazing sexy, cool, fun thing, but it can also be very bad for you."

Given that this woman has been responsible for some of the most iconic break-up songs of all time - Since U Been Gone, Behind These Hazel Eyes, Because Of You, Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)... - let's just say, we're quite scared for what's about to happen.

Chemistry has been in the works for around three years, and Kelly has admitted that she's paused the album a few times, unsure whether to release it or not given its ultra-personal content.

A few years ago, Kelly admitted that recording Chemistry was "like therapy" to her, admitting that it helped get through the range of emotions surrounding her divorce.

As it stands, the My Life Would Suck Without You hitmaker has logged five Top 10 albums on the Official Albums Chart. However, she's yet to reach the summit, with 2007's misunderstood third album My December coming closest and peaking at Number 2.

Surprisingly, she's reached the top of the Official Singles Chart only once - pop-rock confection My Life Would Suck Without You became her first UK Number 1 single in 2009, staying at the top for one week.

Her most recent UK Top 10 on the Official Singles Chart came with 2015's Heartbeat Song, which peaked at Number 7.
