The Roar singer is currently ahead of James Blunt in the battle for Number 1 album, while The Voice winner Andrea Begley’s debut album looks set to go Top 10.

She spent two weeks at the top of the Official Singles Chart with the massive hit Roar, and now Katy Perry looks set to score her second chart-topping album, with Prism leading the race to be Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart.

Katy Perry is ahead of her nearest rival, James Blunt’s Moon Landing at Number 2, by over 7,000 copies, according to today’s Official Albums Chart Update.

If Katy does make it to the top when the Official Albums Chart is announced on Sunday, she will deny Wiltshire-born James Blunt a third Number 1 album.

We caught up with James earlier this week for a chat about how Moon Landing was put together in LA:

At Number 3, last week’s chart-topper, Tribute by John Newman, falls two places, while Passenger’s All The Little Lights climbs five places to Number 4, to spend its 21st non-consecutive week in the Top 10.

Rounding off the Top 5 is Arctic MonkeysAM, which climbs one place to spend its seventh consecutive week in the Top 10.

In addition to new entries from Katy Perry (1) and James Blunt (2), there are six other new entries on today’s Official Albums Chart Update.

Opera star Andrea Bocelli looks set to score his second Top 10 album, with Love In Portofino new at Number 6.

It’s good news for The Voice UK winner Andrea Begley, whose debut album The Message sits at Number 10. Can it hold on to its Top 10 placing when the Official Albums Chart is announced on Sunday?
