Kanye West's The Life of Pablo debuts at Number 1 in the US
Lukas Graham's global debut album reaches the Billboard 200 Top 3.
Kanye West has scored his seventh consecutive Number 1 album in the United States.
The Life of Pablo shifted 94,000 equivalent units to reach the top, 70% of which were streaming figures (equating to 99 million streams), a new record percentage on the Billboard 200 chart. The album marks the first time a record has sailed to the top spot with a majority of collective units coming from streaming services.
Despite being released in February, streaming figures for TLOP were not reported to Neilsen Music - the company responsible for tracking Billboard chart data - until now. This is why this past week was classed as the album's debut seven days.
Kanye's eighth studio album is also his seventh in a row to debut at Number 1. His only album never to reach the US helm is his debut - The College Dropout peaked at Number 2.
Elsewhere on the Billboard 200 chart, Lukas Graham land at 3 with their first global release which is self-titled. Weezer also dropped a self-titled collection that debuted at Number 4. Finally, Big Sean and Jhene Aiko's Twenty88 project starts at No. 5.
