Just 700 copies currently separate Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2 and Haim’s Days Are Gone at the top of today’s Official Albums Chart Update.
Haim are going head-to-head with Justin Timberlake in the race to this week’s Official Albums Chart Number 1.
LA sisters – Este, Danielle and Alana Haim - shot to fame back in January after winning the BBC’s Sound Of 2013 poll. Their debut album, Days Are Gone, which features their Official Top 40 hits, Don’t Save Me, Falling and The Wire, is currently trailing Justin’s The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2 by an incredibly close margin of just over 700 copies.
Part 1 of The 20/20 Experience album spent three weeks at Number 1 back in March of this year, and it is one of the Top 20 biggest selling albums of 2013 so far. Should Justin maintain his lead though to Sunday’s final whistle, The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2 will be his fourth consecutive Number 1 UK album.
Kings Of Leon fall two places to Number 3 with Mechanical Bull, Alter Bridge are new in at Number 4 with Fortress, while Monkey’s former chart topper, AM (5), completes this week’s Top 5.
New Entries
In addition Justin Timberlake (Number 1), Haim (2) and Alter Bridge (4), there are 11 other new entries on today’s Official Albums Chart Update Top 40.
Dizzee Rascal looks set to score his fourth Top 10 album in a row this weekend with his latest full length, The Fifth (Number 9). The Fifth features Dizzee’s recent Official Singles Chart Top 40 hits Bassline Junkie, Goin’ Crazy FT Robbie Williams and his new single, Something Really Bad FT Will.I.Am. Sub Focus, AKA producer Nick Douwma, is also on course to debut in the Top 10 with his second album, Torus (10).
The 20/20 Experience: The Complete Experience, which collects together both parts of Justin Timberlake’s series of albums, is at Number 17, while Status Quo’s new live album, The Frantic Four Reunion 2013, is new in at 18. Moby is on track for his tenth UK Top 40 album with Innocents (21), while Through The Never, Metallica’s soundtrack to their new film of the same name, is at Number 25 today.
This week’s Official Albums Chart Update new entries are completed by Kids In Glass Houses’ Peace (Number 27), The Answer’s New Horizon (29), All Time Low’s Don’t Panic (37), Johnny Flynn’s Country Mile (38) and Turin Brakes’ We Were Here (39).
