Jung Kook enters challenge for Number 1 with debut solo single Seven ft. Latto
Jung Kook is the latest BTS member to kickstart a solo career.
BTS member Jung Kook is kicking his solo career off in style, entering the battle for Number 1 this week with his debut solo single. Seven, featuring rapper Latto, is less 2,000 chart units behind Dave & Central Cee’s Sprinter, can the BTS Army help close that gap?
Billie Eilish’s contemplative What Was I Made For? - taken from the Barbie movie soundtrack - is predicted to bow at Number 9, which would make Billie’s 9th overall Top 10 hit.
Following the release of his first album in three years, J Hus readies himself to see several tracks impact the Official Chart; current single Who Told You with Drake holds steady (4), while Militerian with Naira Marley (18) and Masculine with Burna Boy (22) could secure big debuts.
Tom Grennan’s How Does It Feel looks to secure a new peak (14) as does D.O.D’s fast-rising So Much In Love (16).

jung kook at number 2 is absolutely crazy? i haven’t been checking the streaming charts recently but i might stop because i like little surprises. i expected j hus to have a bigger bomb too even if i’m yet to listen to his album (still love common sense), and i’m really hoping gunna can enter the top 10 with time. my queen billie eilish at number 9 is incredible tho!!

Chart Update 16/07/2023
If I had a penny for every time the charts stagnated, well, I wouldn't be doing this review schtick. Anyways, Top 20 scheduling time, and boy, WHAT a chart. In case my sarcasm wan't obvious to you, there is at least some action going on, but none of it is good in my opinion.
20. Anne-Marie & Shania Twain - UNHEALTHY (3.1/10) Honestly, I've seen sweat stains more appealing than this song. Lord help our music tastes.
19. David Guetta/Anne-Marie/Coi Leray - Baby Don't Hurt Me (3/10) Listen, Anne, umm, could you just go away? PLEASE!? At least Becky Hill is trying with her latest effort.
18. J Hus ft. Naira Marley - Militerian (N/A) Haven't heard it. Do you want me to be more thorough or what?
17. The Weeknd/Madonna/ Carti - Popular (6/10) Looks like those indifferent reviews for The Idol have come back to bite ol' Tesfaye, huh.
16. D.O.D. - So Much In Love (5/10) He won't stop climbing, I won't stop yawning. Sign of the times, I guess.
15. D-Block Europe ft. Clavish - Pakistan (3.8/10) Again, do you honestly expect me to go into more analysis over DBE? No. No one ever does.
14. Tom Grennan - How Does It Feel (3/10) AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-
13. Jorja Smith - Little Things (7/10) I just figured out that people are streaming this, AND the remix of this song in equal numbers. That may explain why people love this song so much.
12. Gunna - fookoomean (4/10) I keep forgetting to listen to the chart whenever Gunna gets a mention. Maybe it's just because I'm not a fan of him?
11. Dua Lipa - Dance The Night (6/10) Another week, another attempt by Dua to lodge herself into the nation's consciousness. The funny thing is, she may not even have the highest charting Barbie single. Ironic.
10. Kylie Minogue - Padam Padam (5/10) Kylie's still here. Whaddya want from me, eh?
9. Bille Eilish - What I Was Made For (5/10) Oh yep, there's that Barbie song I was garbing on about, Billie's contribution set to give her another Top 10 hit. Typical Eilish ballad malarkey here, which is a bit disappointing.
8. Hannah Lairo & Roro - Good Love (4/10) This is the bit in the review where I plug my ears with foam and pretend not to listen to songs like this.
7. Nathan Dawe/Joel Corry/Ella Henderson - 0800 HEAVEN (3/10) -•, ---, •--•, • (This is Morse Code for 'nope', if you're interested)
6. Peggy Gou - (It Goes Like) Nanana - (5/10) Peggy's articulation of ATB's Don't Stop (or is it 9PM Till I Come, I'm not sure) slides one. So that means nobody is happy.
5. Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer (6.4/10) Similarly, nobody is going to be having a good night after seeing THIS song fall a couple. I can picture them frothing at the mouth as we speak.
4. J Hus ft. Drake - Who Told You (7.7/10) The album boost for J Hus here is so great, he doesn't move anywhere. How brilliant is that, eh?
3. Olivia Rodrigo - vampire (6.9/10) Again, seeing this lady slip one place means that unfortunately, O-Rod will NOT be having an easy ride with her new album. Sorry folks.
2. Jung Kook ft. Latto - Seven (4.7/10) Meanwhile, the ex K-Pop boyband member invasion is still going, in the form of Jung Kook from BTS. This song is typical Korean fluff, now with the slight improvement of grabbing Latto from Big Energy fame. Still doesn't mean it's worth shouting about.
1. Dave & Central Cee - Sprinter (4.9/10) OK I'm bored of this topping the chart, can we stream something else? No? Whatever.
So yeah. That's what's goin' on in these parts. Catch you tomorrow, homies!
(P.S. Troye Sivan and Becky Hill have also impacted Spotify, but they're not here. You'd think with Becky Hill's Apple popularity, the first song she's made in LITERALLY YEARS that doesn't make me lactate would be a lot higher. But it isn't. I wish to officially abandon humanity now.)

how do becky hill songs make you produce milk 💀

yeah unhealthy is seriously grating on me now. lol. but seriously am i the only one who isn’t tired of sprinter at number 1? maybes it’s my love for dave idk, but i’d take cruel summer, vampire or even fukumean knocking him off, even if the latter is super unrealistic

I'd like to see anything else at No.1 now, even Mr Blobby doing a cover of Lily The Pink.

Shame to see 'Popular' falling back, but pleased about 'Dance The Night' moving near the Top 10! 😊

'As It Was' finally on ACR!
Piran
, didn't think 'Seven' would be as high as #2!
Not complaining though since I think it's a good song. :)
