Harry Styles' new album has found its first passionate fan in none other than folk legend Joni Mitchell.

Yesterday, Harry surprised practically everyone by announcing the release of his third studio album, Harry's House, in May. His last record, Fine Line, dropped in 2019, and Harry hasn't released a single in about a year - so it was about time for a return.

Joni herself reaching out to acknowledge the title is great on a number of levels. Not only has Harry spoken of her influence in interviews in the past, but the name of his album could also be considered a tribute to Joni herself - who released a song titled Harry's House/Centrepiece on her 1975 album The Hissing of Summer Lawns.

Taking to Twitter and Instagram, Joni re-shared Harry's announcement, saying: "Love the title." Listen, we never said she was a woman of many words. But that's cute, right?

Fans have already started theorising about the content of Harry's House - the cover of which sees Harry stand inside a house that seems to have turned upside down. In the enigmatic teaser video announcing the album's arrival, Harry literally constructs a house on a stage.

So far, the consensus seems to be that this album will be all about constructing a home for yourself to feel safe, no doubt inspired by Harry's own experiences of the pandemic and finding a partner in American director and actress Olivia Wilde.

Harry's House drops May 20, 2022 - find out everything we know about the album here.

The written word-online/txt/etc especially-has zero nuance sometimes.
She could, truly, love it-hence a reasonably valid reason for this ridiculously trite article.
She could also, however, be ‘writing’ sarcastically. You know, given the overtness of the “homage” (in other words the simple theft, sorry, recycling of another artists work verbatim…)
Just sayin btw…kinda like Harry’s solo stuff tbh lol x
