JLS chat about their farewell single, Billion Lights, and Greatest Hit
“Sadly, it’s going to be the last single you hear from your boys JLS,” says JB Gill.
“Sadly, it’s going to be the last single you hear from your boys JLS,” says JB Gill.
JLS are set to make a major impact on both this week’s Official Singles Chart and Official Albums Chart, but sadly this is the last you’re going to hear from JB, Marvin, Aston and Oritse.
The boys released their final single, Billion Lights on Sunday (November 17) while their Greatest Hits collection, Goodbye, followed yesterday.
“Our new single Billion Lights is out now, but sadly it’s going to be the last single you hear from your boys JLS,” JB Gill tells OfficialCharts.com.
This is indeed true.
Billion Lights was written especially for their Greatest Hits album by up and coming songwriter Camille Purcell and JLS’s long-time collaborator, Ali Tennant (who has penned songs for each of their four studio albums and most notably their 2012 Top 10 smash, Hottest Girl In The World).
“Billion Lights is also a celebration,” adds JB. “We wanted to make sure we came with something that is up-tempo, that’s traditional of JLS… You’re gonna see us singing and dancing in the video. You’re gonna feel the vibe for sure! We’re really, really proud of it.”
Since finishing second on the 2008 series of The X Factor, JLS have had an incredible chart run, scoring 11 Top 40 hits (including five Number 1s) and four Top 10 albums. Goodbye – The Greatest Hits features all of their singles so far in chronological order.
“It features a load of hits from day one!” says Aston Merrygold. “Beat Again and Everybody In Love, to Eyes Wide Shut, to Take A Chance On Me… The list goes on! We’ll, obviously not ‘on’, there’s about 12 (laughs).”
You can check out the full interview below where the boys also reveal their fave singles.
In addition to their new single and Greatest Hits album, JLS will be saying goodbye to their fans in person with a series of arena shows up and down the country.
The tour kicks off at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena on December 1st and finishes with two nights at London’s O2 Arena on December 21st and 22nd. For tickets, see www.jlsofficial.com.
