Jimin breaks solo BTS UK chart record with Set Me Free Pt 2 as he releases solo album FACE
Just weeks after bandmate j-hope made UK Official Chart history, BTS star Jimin scores the group's biggest solo success to date.
As he releases his debut album FACE, Jimin (born Park Ji-min) today claims the highest-charting BTS solo single so far, with Set Me Free Pt. 2 storming straight into the Official Singles Chart at Number 30.
Previously, j-hope secured BTS's first-ever solo UK Top 40 entry with J. Cole collaboration on the street peaking at Number 37.

K-pop superstars BTS - comprising j-hope, Jin, Suga, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook - have achieved four UK Top 10 singles to date as a group; Dynamite (Number 3), Life Goes On (Number 10), Butter (Number 3) and Coldplay collab My Universe (Number 3).
The seven-piece also boast two UK Number 1 albums; 2019's Map of the Soul - Persona and 2020 LP Map of the Soul - 7. Read the story behind BTS's second Number 1 album here.
Jimin now becomes the fifth member of BTS to claim a UK Top 100 hit. Previously, Jungkook's Stay Alive (89), Jin's The Astronaut (61), RM's Indigo (45) and, of course, j-hope's on the street (37) impacted the chart.

As a group, BTS are currently on hiatus. This is, in part, due to its members' commitments to mandatory military enlistment back in their homeland of South Korea. Jin is currently undertaking active service, while it's hoped the band will reunite in 2025 once their duties have been fulfilled.
Jimin's debut solo album FACE is out now.
