Congratulations are in order for BLACKPINK's JENNIE, who today secures the highest-charting song by a Korean female solo artist in Official Charts history with Mantra.

The K-pop idol, born Jennie Kim, debuts at Number 37 with her self-empowerment anthem and, in doing so, surpasses previous record holder and bandmate JISOO.

In April 2023, JISOO became the first Korean female soloist to net a UK Top 40 single, when her track FLOWER peaked at Number 38.

Manta becomes JENNIE's second Official Top 40 single of 2024, too. Back in January, The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp collaboration One of the Girls reached its Number 21 peak.

JENNIE takes the lead as BLACKPINK member with the most UK Top 40 singles, now with a solo tally of two.

To date, BLACKPINK have scored eight UK Top 40 singles: 2018 Dua Lipa team-up Kiss and Make Up (36), 2019 release Kill This Love, 2020's How You Like That, Selena Gomez collab Ice Cream (39), Lovesick Girls (40) and Lady Gaga collaboration Sour Candy (17), plus 2022 singles Pink Venom (22) and Shut Down (24).

This comes as JENNIE's bandmate ROSÉ releases her first solo material in three years. Can Bruno Mars team-up APT. see ROSÉ secure her very own Top 40 next week?
