It's turning out to be quite the month for Jay Z, who has today announced that his new album will be released later this month.

Fresh from the news that his wife Beyoncé had given birth to twins, the 47-year-old, real name Shawn Carter, has confirmed that his new album 4:44 will debut next Friday, June 30.

Unsurprisingly considering Jay Z owns TIDAL, the album will be available exclusively on the platform, and it is not currently known when it will be made available on iTunes to download.

4:44 is Jay Z's first album since 2013's Magna Carta Holy Grail, which reached Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart. So far in his career, Jay has appeared on three Number 1 singles in the UK, achieving a further ten Top 10 hits.

Jay Z is one of the headliners confirmed for this year's V Festival, alongside P!nk. More details on the festival's line-up can be found here.
