Jason Derulo set for second week at Number 1 with Talk Dirty

On Sunday, Jason Derulo did the dirty on Katy Perry, knocking the California gurl‘s single, Roar, off the top of the Official Singles Chart to earn his third UK Number 1. His raunchy anthem, Talk Dirty FT 2 Chainz, became the fastest selling single of his career to date, and is the fourth fastest selling single of 2013 over-all.
According to the Official Charts Company’s latest sales data, Jason now looks set to continue his chart lead this week, with Talk Dirty outselling Roar (2) by more than 7,500 copies at this midway stage.
Meanwhile, OneRepublic’s Counting Stars climbs one place to Number 3 on today’s Official Chart Update, Drake’s Hold On We’re Going Home FT Majid Jordan soars three places to Number 4, while Avicii’s You Make Me holds firm at Number 5.
New Entries and High Climbers
UK producer Nick Douwma leads this week’s new entries under his alter ego Sub Focus. Turn It Around, featuring Bloc Party’s Kele Okereke is new in at Number 12.
LA indie trio Haim are on course for their third Top 40 single, and highest charting track to date with The Wire (14), while Sexy Lady, which is a track taken from Jessie J’s new album Alive, is new in at Number 21. US indie pop duo Capital Cities are set to make their chart debut this weekend with Safe And Sound (28).
TKO by Justin Timberlake is this week’s highest climber midweek, shooting up 58 places to enter the Official Chart Update Top 40 at 31. The track is taken from his forthcoming album, The 20/20 Experience - 2 of 2, which is released on Monday (September 30).
Skyscraper by Demi Lovato yo-yos 42 places from Number 59 to Number 17 after featuring as X Factor contestant Hannah Sheares audition song at the weekend. And finally, Kings Of Leon’s Supersoaker climbs 32 spots to Number 36 following the release of the band’s new album, Mechanical Bull.
