Ireland's Official Top 50 biggest vinyl albums of 2019 so far
Billie Eilish, Fontaines D.C. and Bruce Springsteen have been popular on plastic so far this year.
Queen lead the way when it comes to vinyl record sales in the Republic of Ireland.
The iconic British rock group rule the list of the Top 50 best-selling vinyl albums of 2019 so far. Their Greatest Hits collection ranks at Number 1, while their Bohemian Rhapsody soundtrack lands at Number 10. Fellow music icons Fleetwood Mac impact at Number 2 as their seminal album Rumours still proves popular with the Irish public.
The best-selling 2019 release belongs to Billie Eilish at Number 3 on the YTD rundown. The 18-year-old’s debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? spent six weeks atop the Official Irish Albums Chart, spurred on by her popularity across all formats, including vinyl. Billie’s Don’t Smile at Me EP has also sold well on wax and occupies the Number 5 slot. Combining both releases, no other act has sold as many vinyl albums so far in 2019 than Billie.

Dublin rock group Fontaines D.C. claim the biggest homegrown release on vinyl with their debut album Dogrel at Number 4, marginally ahead of Hozier’s three-week chart topper Wasteland, Baby! at Number 6.
The year’s fastest-selling vinyl album is Western Stars from Bruce Springsteen, which logs a Top 10 slot at Number 7 after just two weeks on sale. The album it dethroned from the Official Irish Albums Chart top spot also makes a Top 10 appearance; Lewis Capaldi’s Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent places at Number 9.
Picture This’ second studio album MDRN LV just misses out on a top flight slot at Number 11, while The Cranberries’ final album In The End occupies Number 17. The legendary Limerick group also appear 31 with their debut album Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?.
Other 2019 releases by homegrown talent in the Top 50 biggest vinyl albums of the year are: Rory Gallagher’s Blues (28); Colours by Walking On Cars (29); and The Gloaming’s 3 (39).
