Iggy Azalea on track to bag this week’s highest new album entry
Australian rapper Iggy Azalea looks set to score this week’s highest new entry on the Official Albums Chart.
Iggy Azalea looks set to grab the highest new entry on this weekend’s Official Albums Chart.
The 23-year-old Australian rapper’s debut album, The New Classic, is currently at Number 3 on today’s midweek Official Chart Update, sitting pretty behind reigning chart king Paolo Nutini’s Caustic Love (Number 1), and The Vamps’ Meet The Vamps (2) who both remain unmoved since Sunday.
The news comes almost a year to the day that Iggy made her UK chart debut with her first single, Work, which peaked at Number 17 last March. Since then, she has clocked up three further Top 20 hits including Bounce (Number 13), Change Your Life (10) and Fancy FT Charli XCX, which reached Number 5 earlier this month.
John Legend’s Love In The Future is a non-mover at Number 4, while US band Eels are on track to enter at 5 with their eleventh studio album, The Cautionary Tales Of Mark Oliver Everett.
This week’s new entries are completed by Flood by Kelis. The US singer songwriter, who first shot to fame in 2000 with The Neptunes-produced single Caught Out There, is currently at Number 8 on today’s Official Albums Chart Update. Should Food’s performance continue, it will become the highest charting UK album of Kelis’ career to date; her previous chart best was 2004’s Tasty which peaked at Number 11.
