The Irish duo could score 2020's first Homegrown Number 1 album.

Hudson Taylor's new album Loving Everywhere I Go is heading to Number 1 on the Official Irish Albums Chart.

Brothers Harry and Alfie Hudson-Taylor are leading at the midweek mark of the week, just shy of a 2:1 lead over their nearest competitor Lewis Capaldi (2). The folk duo scored the most CD and vinyl sales so far this week.

Hudson Taylor's debut album Singing for Strangers peaked at Number 3 back in 2015, while their Feel Again EP topped out at Number 4 in 2018, which would make their new record their third Top 5 entry should it keep up momentum.

If Hudson Taylor secure the Number 1 by Friday, they'll be the first Homegrown act to top the charts in 2020. Six Irish acts led the Top 50 in 2019.

Last December, Hudson Taylor reached Number 10 on the Official Irish Homegrown Chart with their festive song How I Know It's Christmas.

This week's final chart placings will be revealed at 3pm on Friday along with the full Top 50 Official Irish Singles and Albums Charts on OfficialCharts.com/Ireland. Listen to the chart every Friday on RTÉ 2FM with Bláthnaid Treacy at 8pm.
