Hozier's charity single The Parting Glass performed on RTE's The Late Late Show set for the Official Irish Singles Chart
The singer's cover of the trad song went viral after he sung it on TV last month.
Hozier captivated the Irish public with his performance of The Parting Glass on RTÉ One's The Late Late Show last month, and now the song is set for success on the Official Irish Singles Chart.
The Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (ISPCC) has reported three times the number of calls to its Childline since lockdown began, which Hozier addressed on the show, dedicating the song to children affected during the global pandemic.
Ireland's response to Hozier's take on the trad classic prompted the County Wicklow singer to release it as a charity single, with proceeds going to the ISPCC.
The Parting Glass performed on @RTELateLateShow is available today on all digital platforms. All proceeds raised from this release will go to @ISPCCChildline who continue to do incredible work for children in need particularly in these difficult times. 💚https://t.co/jJdBcJRTUk pic.twitter.com/wdBEfUUJ7n

Released last Friday (April 17), The Parting Glass was the most downloaded song over the weekend and is on course for a Top 20 debut on the Official Irish Singles Chart, currently at Number 13.
The Parting Glass will become Hozier's 13th Top 50 hit should its momentum continue. The response to the song after it was initially performed caused his latest album, the chart-topping Wasteland, Baby! to return to the Official irish Albums Chart Top 50.
