Hozier heading for Number 1 on this week's Official Irish Albums Chart with Wasteland, Baby!
Tommy Fleming's Voice of Hope may reach a new Top 5 peak this Friday.
Hozier is heading for his second Number 1 on the Official Irish Albums Chart.
Real name Andrew Hozier-Byrne, the County Wicklow singer's second LP Wasteland, Baby! leads today's Official Chart Update, outselling the nearest competition - A Star Is Born's cast recording - by three-copies-to-one.
The collection has spawned the Top 10 single Nina Cried Power featuring Mavis Staples, plus other tracks from the record Shrike, Movement and Almost (Sweet Music) are all Top 50 hits.
Speaking of those tracks, Almost (Sweet Music) is set for a climb of eight places on this week's Official Irish Singles Chart to Number 13, while Movement is also heading for a new personal best at Number 36. Another track from the album To Noise Making (Sing) is on course to debut at Number 38.
Should Hozier hold onto his lead, he will become the second Irish act top claim a Number 1 album in 2019 so far; just two weeks ago, Picture This collected their second chart topper with MDRN LV.
Hozier's self-titled debut album also reached Number 1 on the Official Irish Albums Chart, and is certified 6x Platinum, while the lead single Take Me To Church peaked at Number 2.
Elsewhere on this week's Official Irish Albums Chart, Tommy Fleming's latest album Voice of Hope II could take out a new peak of Number 3 as his domestic tour continues.
