hmv returns to London's Oxford Street: Flagship store to reopen this month
After a four-year absence, London's flagship hmv store will reopen its doors on November 24 2023.
Returning to the iconic 363 Oxford Street address, which played host to the very first hmv store in 1921, the retail space will become a destination for over 4,000 popular culture merchandise lines, more than 20,000 vinyl albums and CDs, in excess of 8,000 home entertainment releases and a range of music technology products.
363 Oxford Street will also house a purpose-built performance floor. Local artists will have the opportunity to perform inside the iconic store through hmv's Live&Local programme; a scheme which has already seen over 2,000 performances and events across stores in 2023.

The reopening of London's iconic store is the latest move to develop hmv into a fan and community-centric brand under Canadian owner Doug Putman.
On the store's return, Doug Putman, owner hmv and Fopp, said: "Our new hmv shop concept and fan-focused offer is really working for us, with hmv once again becoming a mainstay on the UK high street. The return to Oxford Street and re-opening of our flagship is a culmination of the team’s hard work over the past four years and as a business we see it as the launchpad for an exciting new era for hmv.
"We want our new Oxford Street shop to become a home for like-minded pop-culture fans and music lovers to come together under one roof, as it memorably has been in the past for so many people. We can’t wait to open our doors on the 24th with a host of exciting entertainment planned for our customers."
