After climbing to Number 1 last week, the Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again soundtrack remains firmly in the lead in today’s Official Chart Update.

The album is currently 6,000 units ahead of another movie cast recording, The Greatest Showman (2), while the original Mamma Mia! soundtrack (6) and ABBA’s Gold – Greatest Hits (8) are holding up well in the Top 10.

New entries and high climbers

This week’s highest new entry looks set to come from Halestorm; the US rock band’s fourth album Vicious starts at Number 5 and could become their highest charting album yet, following 2015’s Number 10-peaking Into The Wild Life.

Fellow American rockers Daughtry could also be entering the Top 10 this week with their fifth album Cage To Rattle, potentially their highest charting album in 12 years, and Northern Irish country singer Catherine Mcgrath opens at 9 with her debut album Talk Of This Town.

Meanwhile, All Saints start at Number 10 with their new album Testament, Underworld & Iggy Pop’s collaborative album Teatime Dub Encounters is at 13, and The View frontman Kyle Falconer opens at 16 with her debut solo album No Thank You.

A new Bob Dylan album of rare live performances between 1962 – 1966 is heading for the Top 20 at 18, a Steps box set – Tears On The Dancefloor: The Singles sits at 23, and Watford band Spitfires are at 29 with their third album Year Zero, potentially their first Top 40 album.

I really hope Catherine McGrath can stay in the top 10 or even go higher up, bought her album in HMV and it's amazing, she deserves success.
