Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar were among the big winners at this year's Grammy Awards.

Swift bagged the top prize as her latest album 1989 won the coveted Album Of The Year award, as well as Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Music Video for Bad Blood.

The superstar thanked her fans and addressed her detractors when picking up the evening's big prize, hinting at her recent feud with Kanye West over lyrics in his new album that suggest he made her famous.

"I want to thank the fans for the last ten years," she said. "As the first woman to win Album of the Year twice, I want to say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who try to undercut your success, or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame.

"If you just focus on the work, and you don't let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you're going, you'll look around and know it's you and the people who love you who put you there. That will be the greatest feeling in the world!"

It was also a good night for Kendrick Lamar, who triumphed in the Best Rap Performance (Alright), Best Rap/Sung Collaboration (These Walls) and Best Rap Album (To Pimp A Butterfly) categories.

Elsewhere, Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' Uptown Funk picked up Record Of The Year, The Weeknd bagged prizes for Best Urban Contemporary Album (Beauty Behind The Madness) and Best R&B Performance (Earned It), and Ed Sheeran was awarded Song Of The Year for Thinking Out Loud, which was handed to him by Stevie Wonder.

Swift kicked off proceedings on the night with a rendition of Out Of The Woods, while Lady Gaga's delivered a stunning David Bowie tribute.

The Grammy Awards will air in the UK tonight (Feb 16) on 4Music from 8pm.

These Awards are far too political. Also I notice that Elvis lost out yet again with his historic recording of 'My Happiness'. Imagine, the 'King Of Rock 'n' Roll' only won 4 Grammies and they were all for Gospel recordings. Go figure!!

Actually pretty good besides Kendrick Lamae. He's getting so overrated lately. But at least there was no Sam Smith hogging the awards.
