Gotye continues to dominate US charts

After spending five weeks on top of the UK’s Official Singles Chart with Somebody That I Used To Know, Gotye looks like he is on course to equal that record in the US.

The Belgian-Australian singer’s track, which also features Kimbra, has clocked up its fourth week on top of the US’s Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

Meanwhile, former US Number 1, Fun FT Janelle Monae’s We Are Young holds firm at Number 2, while Maroon 5 FT Wiz Khalifa’s Payphone also holds firm at Number 3 after three weeks on the chart. Carly Rae Jepsen’s Call Me Maybe climbs one place to Number 4, as does Flo Rida and Sia’s Wild Ones, which is up from 6 to 5.

Brit boyband The Wanted slip two places to Number 6 with Glad You Came, Nicki Minaj’s Starships is at Number 7 and Justin Bieber’s Boyfriend is at Number 8. One Direction hold onto the Number 9 spot for a second week with What Makes You Beautiful and Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You) by Kelly Clarkson completes this week’s Top 10.

On the Billboard 200 albums chart, Carrie Underwood’s fourth album, Blown Away, debuts at Number 1, Norah Jones’ ...Little Broken Hearts is new in at Number 2, and Now 42 enters at Number 3.

Adele’s 21 (Number 4) spends its 63rd week in the Top 10, while Atlanta rapper B.o.B. debuts at Number 5 with Strange Clouds. Lionel Richie’s Tuskegee slips three places to Number 6, Jack White’s Blunderbuss is down six places to Number 7, and One Direction’s Up All Night falls four places to Number 8.

This week’s Billboard 200 Top 10 is completed by the Smash soundtrack album (Number 9) and Marilyn Manson’s latest release, Born Villain, at Number 10.
