Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire fends off Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga to claim fourth non-consecutive week at Number 1

It’s another week at the top for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, despite strong performances from two brand new entries.

Godzilla X Kong narrowly defeats this week’s highest new entry, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2), by just under 1900 sales, putting Furiosa in good stead for future weeks. Spin-off prequel Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth, and is the biggest release on digital downloads this week.

Our second new entry this week is Civil War (3), a dystopian thriller starring Kirsten Dunst as renowned photojournalist Lee Smith, who journeys across future America with a team of military-embedded journalists as they attempt to reach Washington DC before rebel factions reach the white house.

Meanwhile Amy Winehouse biopic Back To Black lifts two places (4) while this week’s biggest title on physical formats Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire drops three (5). Kung Fu Panda 4 (6) is down two places, Anyone But You holds (7) and former long-reigning Number 1 Dune: Part Two tumbles five places (8).

Entering the Top 10 for the first time is romantic sports drama Challengers; starring Zendaya, Josh O’Connor and Maike Faist, the film is up 14 places to Number 9 on digital downloads only.

Rounding out the Top 10 is Wicked Little Letters, dropping five places to Number 10.
