George Ezra has ridden Shotgun all the way to the title of Ireland’s Official Song of the Summer.
According to sales and streaming data collected by the Official Charts Company on behalf of IRMA and the Official Irish Singles Chart, George’s feel-good anthem was the biggest song across the sunny months, based on music consumption from June 1 to August 31.

In a brand-new list unveiled by the recently launched OfficialChart.com/Ireland, Ezra’s Shotgun emerges as Ireland’s definitive soundtrack to summer 2018 – the most popular song across all formats with combined chart sales of 61,000 copies, comprising 5.7 million audio streams, 2.9 million video streams and nearly 7,000 downloads on these shores alone.

The track spent a total of nine consecutive weeks at Number 1, fending off tough competition from the likes of Drake’s In My Feelings, Anne-Marie’s 2002 and Jonas Blue’s Rise ft. Jack & Jack.
The 25-year-old British singer/songwriter’s popularity is soaring high in the sky right now, his breezy hooks have brightened the Official Irish Singles and Albums Chart all year, as a result previous single Paradise also places at Number 17.
In a mischievous new video message reacting to the news, George says: "Thank you very much to all of you that have come and seen us live, played the song, shared it with your friends and family and sung along with us. It's been an amazing summer."
The song Shotgun dethroned at Number 1, Clean Bandit’s Solo ft. Demi Lovato, is the season’s second biggest song with sales and streams combined, while Anne-Marie’s 2002 finishes in third following her popular stint as Ed Sheeran’s support act on his Irish stadium tour dates.
Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa’s seven-week Number 1 One Kiss is the summer’s fourth most popular song, with 5 Seconds of Summer’s Youngblood rounding out the Top 5 (5).

Tiesto & Dzeko’s Irish Top 10 single Jackie Chan featuring Preme and Post Malone lands at Number 9, while Ariana Grande’s one-week Number 1 No Tears Left To Cry is Ireland’s tenth biggest song this summer.
Further down the list, Selena Gomez just misses out on a Top 10 slot at Number 11 with Back To You, George Ezra makes another appearance with Paradise at Number 17, Michael Jackson appears posthumously at Number 23 on Drake’s Don’t Matter To Me, and Benny Blanco’s first Irish Number 1 Eastside with Halsey & Khalid is at Number 29.
