Gary Barlow puts together all-star line-up for Queen's Diamond Jubilee
Take That star Gary Barlow has put together an all-star line-up for The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert to celebrate 60 years on the throne.
Legendary British artists such as Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, Sir Cliff Richard, Sir Tom Jones, Dame Shirley Bassey, Annie Lennox, Madness and Jools Holland will appear alongside more contemporary British stars such as Jessie J, Alfie Boe, JLS and Ed Sheeran, as well as Chinese concert pianist Lang Lang.
The concert will take place near The Queen Victoria Memorial in front of Buckingham Palace in June. 10,000 tickets will be given away for free via an online ballot system. Ticket holders will also be able to attend a special Jubilee picnic, which will take place in the Buckingham Palace Garden.
"The Diamond Jubilee concert will celebrate the 60 years of The Queen's reign with an amazing line-up of world-class artists coming together to play at one of the biggest and most exciting live music shows in recent years," explained Barlow. "With Buckingham Palace as a backdrop, it's going to be a fantastic event which transcends multiple decades of music.
"It'll be a great, unique, experience for the thousands attending, watching on TV and listening on Radio,” he added. “I can't wait."
The concert will be broadcast live on BBC One and on BBC Radio 2.
