Fun. hold on to the top of Official Streaming Chart for third week

US indie rockers Fun. have held on to the top of the Official Streaming Chart for a third consecutive week with We Are Young FT Janelle Monae.

The Official Streaming Chart, which is compiled by the Official Charts Company on behalf of the British music industry, is the first chart which ranks audio streams from both ad-funded and subscription streaming services in the UK, to reflect the growing interest in this new generation of music services such as Spotify, Deezer, Blinkbox Music, and Napster.

Carly Rea Jepsen’s Call Me Maybe, which topped the chart in its inaugural week when it launched last month, holds firm at Number 2, while Alex Clare’s Too Close is at Number 3 and Drive By by US band Train is at Number 4. Gotye FT Kimbra’s mega hit, Somebody That I used To Know, completes this week’s Top 5.

New Entries

There are eight new entries in this week’s Official Streaming Chart. Gary Barlow And The Commonwealth Band, who have recently topped the Official Album Chart, Official Singles Chart AND the Official Record Store Chart, debut at Number 45 with Sing. Pitbull’s Back In Time, the theme song from the new Men In Black film, MIB III, enters at Number 74, closely followed by Professor Green’s new single Remedy at 74.

The Dream Team’s cover of Maroon 5’s Payphone is new at Number 77, followed by Lawson’s When She Was Mine at 87. Jennifer Lopez’ Dance Again is at 92, while Coldplay’s Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall is at 93. Jay-Z and Kanye West’s No Church In The Wild FT Frank Ocean completes this week’s new entries, debuting at 99.
