Flo Rida's Whistle tops this week’s Official Streaming Chart
Flo Rida has ended Fun. and Janelle Monae’s four-week run at the top of the Official Streaming Chart.
The Official Streaming Chart, which is compiled by the Official Charts Company on behalf of the British music industry, is the first chart which ranks audio streams from both ad-funded and subscription streaming services in the UK, to reflect the growing interest in this new generation of music services such as Spotify, Deezer, Blinkbox Music, and Napster.
The Florida rapper’s latest track, Whistle, has climbed five places from Number 6 to Number 1, knocking Fun.’s We Are Young into second place. Flo Rida becomes the third artist to top the Official Streaming Chart since it was launched last month, and the only trackto reach Number 1 in the Official Streaming Chart whichhasn’t reached Number 1 in the Official Singles Chart.
Carly Rea Jepsen’s Call Me Maybe is down one place to Number 3, while Drive By by Train (Number 4) and Somebody That I Used To Know by Gotye and Kimbra (5) complete this week’s Top 5.
New entries and high climbers
Lead by Maroon 5’s Payphone (Number 15) there are four new entries in this week’s Official Streaming Chart. Justin Bieber makes up half of those with All Around The World FT Ludacris at Number 46, and As Long As You Love Me FT Big Sean at Number 85. This week’s new entries are completed by Katy Perry’s Wide Awake at Number 75.
This week’s highest climber is Cheryl’s Call My Name, up 79 places from Number 91 to 12. Dot Rotten’s Overload climbs 26 places from Number 74 to 48, and Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now climbs 23 places from 100 to Number 77.
