When Flo Rida scored the first Number 1 of 2012 after his track Good Feeling reached the top of the Official Singles Chart on January 8, little did the US rapper realise that he'd become THE UK's biggest selling singles artist of 2012 so far.

To date, Flo Rida has sold a staggering 1.88 million combined copies of his tracks Good Feeling, Wild Ones FT Sia, Whistle, and his latest Top 5 smash, I Cry.

We caught up with Flo last week to present him with his belated Official Singles Chart Number 1 Award for Good Feeling and found out how the track came about, and what it meant to him getting the blessing of soul and blues legend Etta James to use a sample of her 1962 hit, Something's Got A Hold On Me, shortly before her death.

"Getting a chance to work with the late, great Miss Etta James was very touching," said Flo Rida. "Right when the record got to Number 1, she passed away. My condolences definitely go out to her family. She was a person who inspired many artists around the world."
