We can hardly believe it ourselves, but we're already in the final quarter of 2016, which means lots of music's heavy hitters will be hoping to land in your Christmas stockings with their big album releases.

There have already been plenty of stellar records put out in 2016 (just take a look out for our biggest sellers of the year so far list), including The 1975, Sia, Beyonce and David Bowie. But what exciting records are still to be released this year? We've rounded up all the confirmed (and all-but-formally-announced) albums coming your way in 2016. Click through below...

Side note- I wish artistes would stop releasing artwork like that Bastille cover. Some of their fans are very young and impressionable- and believe it or not some would want to try what they see stars doing- like sitting on ledges hundreds of feet up- come on people- think. You have fans that are 8 years old and 12 years old and 14 years old. Their sense of adventure would make them curious about things like that. Just saying.

Kids aren't going to look at an album cover and want to commit suicide, get over yourself.

Kids are very impressionable man. You'd be surprised what some kids across the World would do for high Instagram / Snap Chat views. Trust me.

How many kids do you actually know? Being a part of a community with lots of kids, I don't know a single one who's tried drowning a baby because of Nirvana, had a Lion in their room because of Ella Eyre or thrown a grenade because of Green day.

Bastille will produce the same great music from their last album, Emeli Sande's new work will be more personal and political and I'm sure with Frank Ocean's voice he can get away with anything.

His new song 24K stinks though. The upcoming album may be as bad.

Since 1993,Depeche Mode have released a new album every 4 years so I would expect the next one to come out in 2017.

Depeche Mode likes to release their albums often in march or april

- Black Celebration (March 1986),
- Violator (March 1990),
- Songs Of Faith And Devotion (March 1993),
- Sounds Of The Universe (April 2009),
- Delta Machine (March 2013)

so my guess is...

- Spirit (March or April 2017)

Poor Show "Official Charts Company"! No mention of Clare Maguire who releases her New Album, Stranger Things Have Happened, on 27th May. Pre order the album on her website and receive a download of her latest single Elizabeth Taylor, the video of which you can see on YouTube.

she's never had any global chart success. on the 27th, I would say that a more anticipated release will happen - Fifth Harmony's 7/27 is due for release. clare whoever hasn't made any impression anywhere - hence the idea that it can't be very anticipated.

Again, you forgot to mention ROXETTE and their brand new release in over 4 years!! Their new album will be released in June!! So again thanks for never mentioning that amazing BAND!!

Good point - also a band (Roxette) that has outsold the majority of these other 'eagerly' awaited artists, showed longevity and build a career on solid craftmanship and hard work (check out mainman Gessles career...it goes back almost 40 years)

And another thing, have you noticed how half the "exciting album releases of 2016" are not even confirmed! Yet Clare Maguire who is definitely releasing her New Album, Stranger Things Have Happened, on 27th May and Roxette's album out in June are totally ignored!
