The Scottish singer’s debut album is also the best-selling album of 2013 so far.

She may not have released any singles from it this year, but Emeli Sandé’s first album is still a huge seller. After the huge honour of being the biggest-selling album of 2012, Our Version of Events has passed another massive milestone: it has now reached the two-million mark in sales – and it’s still going!

Our Version Of Events has been a huge success for this talented lady from Aberdeen. Earlier this year, it broke the Beatles’ chart record for consecutive weeks in the Top 10, by spending 66 weeks in the upper reaches of the Official Albums Chart. The album spent ten weeks at Number 1, and during the 88 weeks Our Version Of Events has spent on the chart, it has never dropped below Number 29.

Our Version Of Events has spawned six Top 40 hits on the Official Singles Chart – five of them Top 10s. Emeli has hit the Number 1 spot twice, as a featured artist: first on Professor Green’s version of Read All About It in November 2011 – which Emeli took to Number 3 all by herself the following summer – and then on Labrinth’s Beneath Your Beautiful. Emeli has appeared on ten Top 10 hits.

And if you can handle any more Sandé stats, here’s one more: Our Version of Events is the best-selling album of 2013 so far. Can it hang on until the end of the year and make it two years in a row at the top of the year-end charts? We’ll be first with the news, so as soon as we know, you’ll know. But in the meantime, you can check out the Official Top 40 biggest selling albums of 2013 right here.

Watch our video interview from earlier this year where Emeli talks to us about her album’s huge success.
