Emeli Sande and Conor Maynard to be honoured with Silver Clef Awards
Emeli Sande and Conor Maynard will be honoured by music charity Nordoff Robbins at the annual Silver Clef Awards later this month.
The ceremony, which takes place in London on June 29, aims to honour outstanding musical talent while raising money and awareness for the national specialist music charity.
Emeli Sande will be presented with the Innovation Award by Tinie Tempah, while Conor Maynard will receive the Best Newcomer Award.
“Emeli Sande and Conor Maynard are incredible talents and are the perfect candidates for our American Express Innovation Award and the Tag Newcomer Award at the O2 Silver Clef Awards this year,” said David Munns, Chairman of Nordoff Robbins. “We are thrilled to be celebrating their success. The O2 Silver Clef Awards began 37 years ago, and through that event alone we have raised over £8 million for Nordoff Robbins, allowing us to use music to transform the lives of many thousands of disadvantaged and vulnerable people. Our music therapy work is life changing but we need to raise more funds to continue to reach those who need it the most.”
Other recipients of Silver Clef Awards include Michael Buble (International Award), Jessie J (Best British Act), Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber (Lifetime Achievement Award) and Laura Wright (Classical Award).
There are still a few winners to be announced, including the hotly contested Best Live Act Award which is decided on public votes. To cast your vote, as well as finding out more about Nordoff Robbins’ work and how you can donate money to the charity, log on to: www.nordoff-robbins.org.uk.
