Ella Henderson celebrates a decade of Official Chart smashes by scooping the brand-new Official Top 10 Award for landing her tenth Top 10 single in ten years with Alibi.

Rudimental collaboration Alibi recently became Ella's tenth Official Top 10 single in the UK, kicking off what's sure to be a huge 10th anniversary year for the Lincoln-born singer-songwriter, who first shot to fame on The X Factor in 2012.

Joining founding recipients including Natasha Bedingfield, Jazzy, Crawlers and Skindred, Ella has been presented with our new Official Top 10 Award to mark a decade since her first-ever Official Singles Chart appearance with chart-topping debut single Ghost (banger) which knocked Ed Sheeran's Sing off the top spot back in June 2014.

Ghost paved the way for a full house of ten Top 10 chart hits in the decade since, including follow-up single Glow (7), plus a string of successful collaborations including Glitterball with Sigma (4), a Jax Jones team up on This Is Real (9), Tom Grennan duet Let's Go Home Together (10), Crazy What Love Can Do (5) with David Guetta and Becky Hill, 21 Reasons with Nathan Dawe (9), Switch Disco's React (4), 0800 Heaven (9) with Nathan Dawe and Joel Corry, and most recently breaking the Top 10 with Alibi ft. Rudimental.

Accepting her award, Ella Henderson tells Official Charts:

"I’m so excited! I’ve received an Official Top 10 Award from Official Charts to celebrate the fact that I’ve been in the game for 10 years; and this is to celebrate my 10th Top 10 with Alibi with Rudimental

"I couldn’t think of a better record to celebrate my 10th Top 10 than this song. Coming into 2024, I wanted to bring something very empowering, with a very positive message, and I feel like that’s what this song really does represent. It’s all about standing for no nonsense!"

On the significance of an Official Top 10 single, Ella adds:

"I’ve always wanted to achieve a long-term career in music and have longevity. That’s something that right now, holding this Official Top 10 Award, I’ve got to be super proud of myself for.

"Little old me at 16, going on The X Factor dreamed of being not just an artist, but a budding songwriter as well.

"Accomplishing that and having success with music that I’ve written is pretty amazing. I feel very lucky and blessed to do what I love doing, as a career.

"This is a reminder to keep going. There are days and times when I just want to give up and think that I’m not good enough, but this reminds me that I am good enough!"

WATCH Ella Henderson reminisce on a decade of Top 10 singles on the Official Chart:

On the enduring excitement of yet another Top 10 success a decade into her career, Ella adds:

"You still get that excited feeling when a song starts to do well and picks up. For me, as a writer, lyrics are everything for me. That’s my form of therapy. Whenever I go to write any song, it always comes from something that’s actually happened to me.

"When a song does do well, and you strip the lyrics back, I think that’s ultimately because people have been through that too and relate to it."

it’s not really an achievement though if she’s had to rely on featuring on capital-core djs to get an article written about her and a glorified trophy on her shelf. she’d be a nobody without those djs, truthfully!
