Elbow take early lead in Official Albums Chart race with AUDIO VERTIGO

Elbow take an early lead in this week’s Official Albums Chart race, with AUDIO VERTIGO on course to become the Bury-formed band’s fourth Number 1 LP. 

The band, comprising Guy Garvey, Pete Turner and Craig and Mark Potter, could see their tenth studio record join 2014’s The Take Off And Landing Of Everything, 2017’s Little Fictions and 2019 release Giants Of All Sizes in their tally of UK chart-toppers.

Teaming up for their first collaborative album, Future and Metro Boomin eye a Number 2 debut with WE DON’T TRUST YOU. Set to see three tracks impact this week’s Official Singles Chart - Like That, Type S**t and We Don’t Trust You – the LP could become Future’s fourth and Metro Boomin’s third Top 10 album. 

Scottish alt-rock outfit The Jesus and Mary Chain hope to earn a career-best with Glasgow Eyes this week, currently predicted to enter at Number 3. The first release in seven years from brothers Jim and William Reid, Scott Van Ryper, Justin Welch and Mark Crozer, Glasgow Eyes tracks to become the band’s third Top 10 LP across a career spanning four decades. 

Olivia Rodrigo’s former chart-topper GUTS looks set to vault 11 spots back into the Top 5 following the release of a deluxe GUTS (spilled) edition (4). The reissue includes one brand-new track, so american, and a further four songs only previously available via various GUTS vinyl releases. The record’s latest single, obsessed, is also expected to be this week’s highest new Official Singles Chart entry.

Where The Wild Things Grow, Starsailor’s first full-length release in seven years, could earn the Warrington-formed group a third Top 10 album, and their first in over 20 years. The band previously enjoyed Top 10 success with 2001’s Love Is Here (2) and 2003’s Silence Is Easy (2). 

New Jersey native FLETCHER (born Cari Elise Fletcher) hopes to secure her first-ever Top 10 album with second LP In Search Of The Antidote (8), as do English folk duo The Staves with All Now (10).

Waxahatchee, a project led by Alabama-born singer-songwriter Katie Crutchfield, expect to earn a career-best with sixth studio LP Tigers Blood (12). Meanwhile Real Power, Gossip’s first album of new material in 12 years, could match their previous Official Albums Chart peak achieved with 2009’s Music For Men (18).

Big Thief band member Adrianne Lenker tracks for her first solo UK Albums Chart entry with Bright Future (19), while breakout Amapiano star Tyla aims for a Top 40 debut with TYLA (21). 

Further down, Seattle-formed rock group Alice In Chains’ 1994 record Jar Of Flies expects to return to the Top 40 for the first time in 30 years this week (33). The band’s third studio album, reissued across new physical variants in celebration of its 30th anniversary, scored a Top 5 peak on its original release (4).

Also looking to rebound back into the Top 40 are WHAM!’s first two studio releases. Reissued on vinyl, George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley’s 1985 album Make It Big could land at Number 35, while 1984 debut Fantastic tracks for Number 37. Both LPs topped the Official Albums Chart upon their original releases.

And finally, former WHAM! backing vocalist Dee C. Lee aims for her first-ever Top 40 record this week with Just Something (40).
