Anna Lapwood ‘stretches her wings’ with Official Classical Chart Number 1 Firedove

Anna Lapwood Firedove Number 1 Award

Speaking exclusively to Official Charts, Anna Lapwood says:

"WE DID IT! I can honestly hardly believe I’m saying this, but I am so excited that Firedove has hit Number 1 on the Official Classical Artist Albums Chart.

"I spent so many years being told that only a small number of people loved the organ, and that there isn't really a market for it! This album feels like a stretching of musical wings for me, and like I've finally found my musical home. I've loved bringing together the different parts of my musical life, juxtaposing incredible classical organ repertoire by composers like Duruflé and Vierne with some of my musical experiments, fusing genres and bringing them together through the thread of the organ itself.

"This album has helped me fall in love with the organ all over again, and I hope it might make other people fall in love with it too. To the incredible online community that has helped me find my voice: thank you! I couldn’t have done this without you."
