Ed Sheeran Mathematics Tour Collection Number 1 Album

Ed Sheeran secures his eighth Number 1 album with +–=÷× (Tour Collection).

In its 14th week on chart, having made its debut in October 2024, the collection lifts seven to finally reach the summit following its release on an exclusive Blood Records vinyl variant; as a result it tops the Official Vinyl Albums Chart. The album also becomes the most-purchased record in UK independent record shops, in at Number 1 on the Official Record Store Chart.

+–=÷× (Tour Collection) comprises hits and live recordings of tracks from six of Ed’s previous chart-topping albums: 2011’s +, 2024’s X, 2017 release ÷, 2019’s No.6 Collaborations Project, 2021 album = and 2023’s -.

Ed Sheeran says:

"My 8th UK Number 1 album. Thank you to everyone who streamed or bought it. What a way to cap off Mathematics, and what a way to start 2025. Feeling very very grateful.

Elsewhere, the rest of the Top 5 stays put: Sabrina Carpenter’s Short N’ Sweet (2), SZA’s SOS (3), Chappell Roan’s The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess (4) and Charli xcx’s BRAT (5). Each of these records make the list of 2024’s Official biggest albums – see last year’s Top 40 in full here.

ABBA’s chart mainstay ABBA Gold lifts eight back into the Top 20. It’s no doubt thanks, in part, to Mamma Mia’s prominence in Gavin & Stacey: The Finale which aired on Christmas Day (13).

Other big winners this week include Olivia Rodrigo, who sees GUTS (18) and SOUR (20) back inside the Top 20, Benson Boone, whose debut Fireworks & Rollerblades jumps 12 (36), and Calvin Harris, with his 2024 hits collection 96 Months up 15 (38).

I’ll never understand the appeal of Ed Sheeran. Great to see SZA at #3.
