Roger Waters, Dua Lipa and Alt-J are among the big new entries on this week's Official Albums Chart.

Despite a flurry of new albums out this week, it’s Ed Sheeran who comes out on top, as ÷ reclaims the Number 1 spot on the Official Albums Chart.

Ed’s third record claims an 11th week in pole position, knocking last week’s Number 1, a 50th anniversary release of Beatles’ Sgt Pepper’s album, down to 2. Roger Waters, who was leading at the halfway stage of the chart week, finishes at 3 with his fourth solo album Is This The Life We Really Want.

Meanwhile, Rag’n’Bone Man’s Human drops a place from last week to Number 4 (it’s yet to leave the Top 5 since its release in February), and Dua Lipa’s self-titled debut album is new at Number 5.

New entries and high climbers

Elsewhere in the Top 10, indie-rock trio Alt-J land at 6 with their third album Relaxer, US pop-punk band All Time Low debut at 7 with Last Young Renegade, and Oasis’ retrospective Time Flies 1994 – 2009 returns to the Top 10 for the first time in seven years following last week’s One Love Manchester concert, leaping 11 spots to Number 8.

Hank Marvin claims his fourth Top 10 album with Without A Word (9), and a 30th anniversary release of U2’s The Joshua Tree sees the record re-enter the Top 10 at 10. The album topped the Official Albums Chart for two weeks upon its original release in March 1987.

Ariana Grande’s Dangerous Woman album climbs 18 places to 11 after One Love Manchester, Halsey debuts at 12 with her second collection hopeless fountain kingdom, and North London rapper Mostack makes his Top 40 debut this week with mixtape album High Street Kid (17).

Finally, Kiss best of Kissworld (18), Pop Goes Classical by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra (25), and Thea Gilmore's The Counterweight (40) all earn a place in this week’s Top 40.

I was expecting Dua Lipa's album to be a contender for #1, but I guess not...

Just shows the lack of talent that Sergeant pepper is in the top 2 after 50 years. England has not produces a super group since the 80s.

How the mighty have fallen. From the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin to One Direction and Ed Sheeran, Such a shame.

Beatles have more talent in their little fingers than Ed Sheeran will ever have. Ed will be forgotten about in ten years time and in another 50 years Sergeant Pepper will be at number 1 again.

27 weeks at #1 this decade and the third highest selling album in the UK says differently don't hate just congratulate this generation's King Ed Sheeran.

Does this mean he is any good? He is very average. Sergeant Pepper is the greatest album of all time (according to most serious music sites), Ed Sheeran probably not in the top 100,000. His music will not last the test of time. He will be the next Robbie Williams i.e. very rich but very average.

We shall see but at the present millions seems to love his music and turn out to buy it in droves that's what matters not some critics polls Ed Sheeran is the real deal.

Yes loads of teenagers;any serious music critic would just laugh at his music. Anyhow he seems a nice guy so will not give him too much stick.

He still is not yet to create a record which will be added to the hall of fame; not sure he ever will do. Time will tell but he needs to move to the next level to be considered a true artist.

If Elvis and The Beatles had streaming included in their day like Ed Sheeran they would have been even more successful!

It's the new generation and the modern artists are becoming more like the status of Elvis and The Beatles. Legends will be forever legends and modern artists can be legends, too. It's just too early to judge 'em. Adele will most likely be at the Hall of Fame and Ed Sheeran wanted to be as well, by making music that is endless.

Say what you want about modern artists but Ed Sheeran is one of those musicians who never left their passion in music since he was a kid. He's a humble guy, too... which the music industry really needs right now.

Ed may not be a legend, but he will be.

Ps. I treat every music artist equally and truly respect the opinions of others regarding the modern beating the legends on the charts. Face it people, there are modern artists that works and makes music because they idolize the legends in how they make their work. It's a new generation of music and this Ed Sheeran guy is already making records and history in just a small amount of time. Not to mention, he was liked by the masses because of his music, not by his looks (although he looks great, too).

To become a music legend Ed has true produce truly great music that will be cross generational; at the moment he is not. To early to judge and Beatles did not create their first great album until Help(5th Album). So Come Ed you have the money get the orchestra in and lets start making some big music.

Finally! I'm not losing hope on Ed. He made a lot of great music back then.

There's a lot of modern artists that can be qualified any time soon, like Sam Smith.
