Ed Sheeran is set for Official Chart domination this week following the release of his new album = (Equals), with three songs on course to land in the Official Singles Chart Top 10.

The album’s latest single Overpass Graffiti is on track to debut at Number 1 this Friday (November 5), while former chart-toppers Shivers (2) and Bad Habits (5) are in the Top 5. Should it hold on, Ed could be celebrating his 12th UK Number 1 single, and third in 2021 alone. View Ed Sheeran’s Official Chart history here.

Elsewhere in the Top 10, Adele’s Easy On Me drops to Number 3 after two weeks at the summit, and Becky Hill & Topic’s My Heart Goes (La Di Da) could climb into the Top 10, so far up one place to 10.

Finally, Halloween is having an impact on the Official Singles Chart today, with two spooky classics currently in the Top 20: Ghostbusters by Ray Parker Jr, originally a Number 2 hit in 1984, and Bobby Boris Pickett’s Monster Mash, a Number 3 smash in 1973.

Really hope that 'Overpass Graffiti' won't be No.1. I doubt that 'Shivers' will go back up to No.2, I think it will be No.3. We really need to aim for 3rd on No.1 for Adele.

That's never going to happen, bad habits will get an acr reset next week too, when Adele drops the album then it will fly again and maybe a new track from it

Ed Sheeran is and doesn't deserve to occupy the top 2. I want Adele to still be on No.1. His songs are no longer good anymore and hopefully his next album after this one he flops.

Hopefully Adele stays strong at the Top.

Interesting Fact Only Elvis Presley, Queen & Michael Jackson have spent more weeks on the charts combining Albums and Singles than Ed.
Elvis has 2807 weeks
Queen has 2277 weeks
Michael Jackson has 2222 weeks
And Ed has 2172 weeks Already and will quickly go past Queen and Michael Jackson.

At the current rate, will overtake MJ possibly even Queen by about this time next year. Except Queen are still adding and MJ isn't as much.

Updated as of Monday Ed is up to 2218 weeks only 4 shy of MJ.

With 3 current singles and at least one (probably up to 4) current albums, he'll overtake on Friday. Would be interesting to compare their calendar weeks on chart (i.e. discounting the multiple simultaneous hits)

As far as Joel Corry hits go, ‘I Wish’ debuting in the Top 20 here isn’t bad at all. :)

Disappointed to see ‘Meet Me At Our Spot’ not expected to go Top 10 on Friday either! :(

Pleasantly surprised with how well tell me something good is doing tho :)

Piran

Yeah, me too!

It’s usually a bit lower in the final chart, but I think it’ll comfortably be inside the Top 20 on Friday. :)

Surprised that ‘Overpass Graffiti’ is #1 when ‘Shivers’ is ahead of it on literally every platform!

I mean, both songs are okay (even if I’d much rather Adele stayed at the top), but ‘Stop The Rain’ was robbed. :/

I was also surprised when I saw that overpass graffiti ig going towards the top spot. Didn’t expect 3 number 1 singles already from the album

Looks like Adele no longer has the staying power at the top..Now 30 that's a different matter ..I tip it to be Xmss no.1 album.

avatar

Piran

Yeah, ‘Easy On Me’ might only get two weeks at #1, while ‘30’ could spend the rest of the year at the top when it gets released in two weeks. :)

I don’t think it’ll be there tonight though, looking at the updated BuzzJack numbers from Wednesday, but what won’t be so easy to tell is whether or not ‘Easy On Me’ or ‘Shivers’ will be at the top! :O

Neither the Halloween songs or overpass graffiti will hold up by Friday
