Ed Sheeran has apparently written this year's X Factor winner's single
Does this year's X Factor champ have the Official Christmas Number 1 in the bag?
Ed Sheeran has apparently written this year's X Factor winner's single.
After last year's track - a cover of Bob Dylan's Forever Young by winner Louisa Johnson - failed to do the usual business on the Official Chart (it peaked at Number 9), The Sun reports that X Factor bosses are calling in the big guns in the hope of reclaiming the Official Christmas Number 1.
The newspaper claims that the remaining contestants have already heard the song and will be released by the majority of the finalists should they win, except 5 After Midnight and Honey G.
The X Factor has turned out seven Christmas Number 1s in its 12 series, most recently Ben Haenow's Something I Need in 2014. Remind yourself of every Official Christmas Number 1 single here.
What's more, X Factor winner's singles have the potential to sell a lot, with four having shifted over one million copies. Check out the full list of the best selling X Factor winner's singles here.
