Ed Sheeran has announced that his next album will be titled x.
Ed, who has scored 11 Official Singles Chart Top 40 hits, made the announcement on his Twitter, explaining the title of his latest offering, “My 2nd album is called 'x' or 'multiply'”. The album, which was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Rick Rubin (Eminem, Adele, Johnny Cash) will be released in the UK on June 23.
x will be Ed’s second studio album, following +, which debuted at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart and became the then fastest selling digital debut album in chart history when it was released back in 2011. According to Official Charts Company sales data, + has now sold over 1.77 million copies in the UK.
