Sad news for Ed Sheeran fans, the superstar has had to cancel a run of tour dates after being involved in a biking accident.

While on his bike in London earlier this week, Ed was hit by a car, and fractured his right wrist and left elbow in the process. As a result, five of Ed's tour dates "will not go ahead as planned".

Taking to Instagram, Ed message for fans, which he explained was typed by someone else as he cannot write(!), was as follows: "A visit to my doctors confirmed fractures in my right wrist and left elbow that will leave me unable to perform live concerts for the immediate future."

Five Asian tour dates - Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong - are affected, while there is a chance further shows may be cancelled should Ed's arms not heal as quickly as hoped. Ed continued: "I’m waiting to see how the healing progresses before we have to decide on shows beyond that."

You can see both of Ed's arms in a combination of casts and slings here - we hope you have a speedy recovery Ed!

Luckily for Ed, we've got some #ChartFacts to reel off that may help numb his pain. His third album ÷ released in March of this year is the fastest-selling album EVER by a male solo artist, and is the best-selling and most streamed album of 2017 so far. It also features more Official Singles Chart Top 10 singles on it than any other album in history, so it's been kind of a big deal.
