Ed Sheeran and Stormzy land a second week at Number 1 with Take Me Back To London as the track continues to enjoy a boost from a remix by producer Sir Spyro, featuring rappers Jaykae and Aitch. It leads its closest competition, Higher Love by Kygo and Whitney Houston (2), by 22,500 combined sales.

Aitch climbs three to a new peak of Number 3 with Taste (Make It Shake), while Strike A Pose by Young T & Bugsey, on which Aitch also features, rises two to Number 10, continuing its slow-burning ascent up the charts.

Post Malone takes the week’s highest new entry honours, debuting at 11 with Circles, while Headie One climbs five places to 13 with Both. Sam Feldt’s Post Malone ft. Rani rises ten spots to 16.

Elsewhere, Kosovo-born DJ Regard zooms 20 places to Number 25 with Ride It, giving him his first Top 40 hit. Australian singer-songwriter Tones & I jumps nine spots to Number 31 with Dance Monkey.

Finally, producer Y2K & rapper BBNO$ earn their first Top 40 single with Lalala, moving up seven places to Number 37.

Ed Sheeran needs a long, long holiday. Soon.

Like Whitney says at the end of her "My Love Is Your Love" song, 'the record is not over'!

'Higher Love' numbers has to remain strong thru the week in top 2 spot and also increase high numbers to dethrone Ed's 'London' by late Thursday of next week for the top spot. Right now tough for Whitney/Kygo and other top 5 artists.

In my opinion this spyro remix is just OK, its not as good as the original version of 'Take Me Back To London', all in all just odd timing with 'London' remix being released 2 weeks ago for Whitney's song to hit the top spot.

Whitney is still the winner, she's an iconic music artist and she's no longer her with us. Her name has been dragged harshly over last 20 years, so for her to have a song at no.2 on UK Singles chart today, as the great iconic Luther Vandross sings of his title song is "So Amazing". RIP Ms Whitney, you are truly missed and loved!

Another week at number 2 for WHITNEY and KYGO...shame really if Ed could give us a break from singing for a while...one can only dream...WHITNEY will be our number 1 now!!

I know she was right there 1 spot up to get there, until sudden release yet again with Ed's 'London' remix being released the same week that 'Higher Love' would hit no.1 for sure if that hadn't happen.

For as much as I hate to admit it, 'Higher Love's probably not getting the #1 now! It should be approaching ACR in the next two or three weeks & 'Take Me Back To London's lead is just huge. At least Whitney got a Top 2 hit in 2019 though... that's still amazing! :)

As for the three new entries, 'Circles' & 'Ride It' are good, while 'Lalala' is only okay.

Both "Higher Love" and "Take Me Back To London" show a small decline in streams this week. Assuming neither increase in streams, they will both be on ACR after 2 more weeks (w/c 27th). At least "Higher Love" is still no.1 in sales....

'Take Me Back To London' is only on its sixth week in the chart, so surely it'd be at least another month before that goes on ACR?

Yeah, though 'Higher Love' at no.1 in sales but a 5th no.1 UK song would be major for her..she hasn't had a no.1 UK song since 1992, "I Will Always Love You"..that's been 27 yrs ago.

It was starred out for two weeks. This is its 8th week on the streaming chart and since it's a decline in streaming that triggers ACR, i think it will be that week on ACR. I have just heard that its decline was less than the market share so this week may not count as a decline anyway for "london". Not sure about Whitney...

Also Senorita is actually really no.2 (if you remove ACR).

As a side note apparently if you got rid of ACR and the 3 song limit, the new entry at 70 would actually come in at no. 143!

Oh yeah, it was removed from the chart due to the "three songs per artist" rule, but I'm not too sure if that adds to its chart run for ACR. I guess we'll have to wait & see.

That's insane! Then again, I bet without ACR, 'Beautiful People' & maybe even 'Someone You Loved' would still be Top 10 hits!

It is true that "Beautiful People" is really at 6 and "Someone You Loved" is at no.8.

Do you have a link or could tell me where I could find the chart without ACR included?

It's crazy that 'Someone You Loved' would've spent at least six months inside the Top 10 if it weren't for ACR. It'll definitely be the song of the year though, since ACR doesn't affect annual charts as far as I'm aware.

I'm not aware of any website that lists this unfortunately. My info comes from Music Week, James Masterton and UKMix. You can get bits of information from these sites, but nothing that gives you the whole picture....

"Someone You Loved" is far in front with over 1.8 million units since as you say ACR is not used in the annual charts. I believe Old Town Road is currently second with 1.4 million. Unless something massive comes out, it is likely that these will be the top 2 of the year.

That's okay, thanks anyway! I'll be sure to take a look at those websites regularly. :)

Yeah, I imagine 'I Don't Care' is a likely third, since it was not only the Song Of The Summer 2019, but it's also the longest #1 of the year so far.
