Ed Sheeran returned to Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart following Glastonbury, and he's got some stiff competition to hold onto the top spot this week.

Ed's third studio album ÷ is fending off the competition so far this week, still at Number 1 on today's Official Albums Chart Update. Just 650 sales separate Ed and his nearest rival for chart glory this Friday, Calvin Harris.

The Scottish DJ & producer's new collection Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 trails at Number 2, although leads the way on downloads at this early stage of the week. Will Ed retain his edge on streaming and physical formats or can Calvin score his third Number 1 album?

Elsewhere in the Top 5, Iowan rockers Stone Sour could net their highest ever chart placing at Number 3 with Hydrograd. The band last hit the Top 10 in 2010 with Audio Secrecy.

New entries and high climbers

Glastonbury fever is still affecting the Bee Gees following Barry Gibb's legend slot performance; Timeless: The All Time Greatest Hits rises three places from last Friday's position to reach a potential new peak of Number 6.

TLC's new self-titled album, which features 11 new tracks and five reinterpreted classics is on course for a Top 40 debut at Number 21, ahead of 1967 - Sunshine Tomorrow, a new Beach Boys compilation at 28. Peter Perrett's How The West Was Won is another potential newbie at Number 30.

Finally, in preparation for their slot at Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park on Saturday, The Killers' Hot Fuss is up 61 places to Number 39. The band's debut album, Hot Fuss is currently discounted at various retail outlets.

Okay, this time I want Ed Sheeran to hold on. With the exception of his newest single, Calvin's urban stuff makes me want to kill myself for the fun.
Also, Stone Sour's new album isn't very good. Needs more melodic songs like Hesitate.

Hopefully when the streaming rules change more artists will have a better chance of being number one.

Streaming is here stay for the albums chart but the singles chart should not include streaming.

no should be the other way round. Streaming, especially of 'singles' has no business contributing to the album. Unless the majority of the album is being streamed then the streaming shouldn't count for the album charts. Fortunately i believe the UK charts do take this into account and modify the contribution of 'singles' streams rather than count 'single' streams equally when calculating album streams.

C'mon Calvin!! Same old argument about streaming. Loads more people buying Calvin's album than Eds but more streaming Eds. Very annoying.
